A Delicious Field Trip for Arabic Class

Jake and Emily, along with their fellow Arabic 2 classmates, took a field trip to Hoda's Lebanese Restaurant today.  Their visit included a delicious lunch - which they ordered completely in Arabic - and the opportunity to make pita and zaatar in the restaurant's kitchen.  Click here for photos.

Sellwood Bridge Move

This link will take you to a time-lapsed video Pat took of the Sellwood Bridge being moved today.  Engineers moved a 1,100 foot span weighing 7,000,000 pounds about 66 feet sideways as part of a multi-year rebuilding process to make the bridge safer.  Click here to read an article from The Oregonian with more details and additional photos and video.

Happy New Year

Here are a few photos of our annual "smashing of the gingerbread houses."  Jake's DI team helped out, as did the birds.  

We haven't had the camera out much yet in 2013... the whole back-to-school, end-of-semester thing has kind of thrown us off after a great winter break.
