King Arthur's Quest

Here are photos of Jake and Emily and classmates performing in their school play, King Arthur's Quest.

It was Missoula Children's Theater Week... always a highlight of the school year! With try-outs on Monday and performances quickly following on Friday and Saturday, it was a busy five days. Jake played the role of a citizen of Camelot, while Emily was the poet/bard, Taliesin.

Emily was thrilled to be selected for one of the lead roles this year, and she did a great job! We have some video clips that we'll upload soon. Several of the main characters had "mini" versions of themselves played by 1st and 2nd graders. The minis added a little extra cute factor, plus provided some needed "scale" when it came time to fight the dragon!

Speaking of scale... it's official. Drew is now taller than Pat :). He is having a great 7th grade year, though there haven't been many opportunities recently to capture that on film.

Happy New Year!

We rang in the New Year at Timberline Lodge at Mt. Hood this year. Here's a photo album of the festivities there, which included a balloon drop and fireworks show.

There are also photos from the past week, including the surprise afternoon of snow we received here in Portland.... it was short lived, but enough for some sledding and snowman building.

We drove through beautiful, heavy snow to get to Timberline Lodge, but even 6000 feet wasn't high enough to escape the rain that came our way New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Skiing was limited by the weather, but it was still a fun trip!

Happy New Year to all!
