500 feet...

500 feet made the difference between a school day for Drew and a snow day for Jake and Emily today. While lower elevations like downtown are getting rain, we're having beautiful snow showers in the West Hills... enough to cancel higher elevation schools for the day and have some fun.

It's not the epic blizzard the kids were hoping for, but they'll take what they can get. Click here for a few sledding photos. The photo we failed to get this morning was when there was 1 city bus, 2 school buses, a news van and multiple cars all stuck precariously at the top of our street. Oh well, we'll probably get another chance...more snow on the way.

Snow... melted

It looked promising for a while there... too bad it didn't last. At least the skiing will be good!

A few photos from our snow-day that wasn't.

A Day for Design

We visited some art galleries today - Bullseye Glass and the Museum of Contemporary Craft. It was a homework assignment of sorts for Drew's Design Workshop class, but a perfectly pleasant way to spend a rainy Saturday. In addition, Jake's DI team was hard at work today trying to perfect their design for a weight-bearing, golf-ball holding structure of balsa wood & glue. For Emily's DI team, their project is a book drive for the Children's Book Bank. They're collecting books all month via various drop sites in Hillsdale and Multnomah Village. Click here for photos.
