Drew's block class had a big week... they held their congressional hearings at Portland City Hall. They served as "expert witnesses" on the Constitution, appearing in front of a panel of coaches and members of Lincoln High School's nationally acclaimed constitution team. Drew's group's area of expertise was the Declaration of Independence. They did a great job presenting and fielding some tough questions from the panel.
Click here for photos of Drew's presentation, as well as Jake's track meet, Emily's lacrosse game, and our recent zoo outing with our friends Elan, Luna, Diego & Ari.
Also, thank you Henry for treating Jake to a Timber's game... go Timbers!
We had a progressive Easter Egg hunt this afternoon... 4 backyards, 11 kids, hundreds of plastic eggs, and hours of fun! Click here for photos.
Candy... prizes... the thrill of the hunt... even a small sun break, and as if that weren't enough, bagels, bloody mary's and bunny mac&cheese to wrap up the festivities! Happy Easter to all!
Track & Field... the perfect sport for a guy with only one speed! Click here for a few photos from Jake's first track meet. He took 2nd place in the hurdles, though we failed to capture that on film. Good thing there's another meet next week!
We celebrated Pat's special day - and the arrival of some sunny weather - with dinner on the deck.
Drew has been drawing a lot of old boats lately. He's quite talented when it comes to making sketches from photographs, as you'll see if you click here. And like the rest of his family, he's also very ready for a warm, water-based vacation!
The Devil Ducks came home with a 2nd place trophy from this weekend's State DI Tournament. It was a great finish to a great season... congrats to all, including our friends Chopsticks and the Fiverbolts; the 8th graders who beat us to take first place, Green Eggs & Ham; and Oregon DI which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

CLICK HERE for photos from the weekend. The dragon pictured above was our favorite prop of the day. It was created by a high school DI team called Girls in Motion. They were as amazing as their creation!

No school tomorrow... it's the end of the third quarter. For Jake & Emily that means the completion of their social studies unit on India which culminated in the creation of a quilt based on the book, Homeless Bird.
It also means that we're off to Corvallis this weekend for the DI State Tournament. Some of the kids' friends stopped by this evening to offer their good luck wishes.
