We're just back from a couple of days in Astoria, where we got to tour/ride on a Columbia River Bar Pilot boat. The Columbia Bar is considered one of the "most dangerous and challenging navigated stretches of water in the world".
We also visited the top of the Astoria Column, explored the town, and generally enjoyed the waterfront view and amenities of the hotel we were staying in. Click here for photos.
