Trip to the Coast

Weekend in Astoria

We're just back from a couple of days in Astoria, where we got to tour/ride on a Columbia River Bar Pilot boat. The Columbia Bar is considered one of the "most dangerous and challenging navigated stretches of water in the world".  

We also visited the top of the Astoria Column, explored the town, and generally enjoyed the waterfront view and amenities of the hotel we were staying in.  Click here for photos.

Tubing with Tala & Eli

Click here for more photos of our weekend adventures with Tala, and our friend Eli who celebrated his #13 birthday today.  We had a great day on the Willamette, anchored just off Toe Island where there was plenty of room to swim and try-out Eli's new tube.

Happy 4th of July

Emily spent 4th of July performing twice at the Portland Waterfront Blues Festival - first with Joy Now Arts Project, then again with Joy Now's sponsoring organization, March Fourth Marching Band, on the festival's main stage just before the fireworks show and in front of an audience of 12,000+ people.
