Jake, Emily and friends took part in a belated birthday celebration last night. For a few hours, our backyard was transformed into a castle-o-fun. There were burgers for dinner and dessert, dancing, games and a LOT of bouncing. It was a lovely evening, and a good time was had by all. Click here for photos.

We started blogging in 2007 to document a year-long family sailing adventure. Upon returning to our home base in Portland, Oregon, in 2008, our adventures and blogging continued. Sri Lanka and Malta took center stage for our 2018-2020 adventures. We were bicoastal (OR and PA) for a while in 2020-2022, but as we look ahead to our 16th year of posts, we're together in Oregon once again.
