Night at the (Art) Museum

Last night we attended Shine A Light at the Portland Art Museum. The event is all about interaction with art, so there were lots of unique opportunities. Click here for photos.

Staying Occupied

Pat took these photos of the Occupy Portland protest on his way home yesterday. He decided to finish his commute home, in spite of the inviting sign.

And the Winner is....

Drew and his sailing partner Belle took first place this weekend at a regatta hosted by the Willamette Sailing Club. Click here for race photos.


Also this weekend, the twins had another dance class, and Emily had the opportunity to meet more of her favorite designers from Project Runway at a Portland Fashion Week event. You can read about that on her blog.

Dinner Cruise & More

We've had really great weather this week, so we celebrated the end of September with a dinner sail on Thursday evening, followed by another fun dinner with our Friday Night Dance Class carpool.

On Saturday, Drew got a driving lesson in our friend Francesca's vintage VW bug, and we got to share in a birthday celebration for Eli.

Polka Anyone?

On Friday, it was our turn to host the twin's Dance Class carpool group for dinner. The weather was fantastic - a very summer-like 3rd day of Fall! We also got to help celebrate Ruby's birthday.


As for the rest of the weekend, Saturday we attended an Oktoberfest - complete with wiener-dog racing - and Sunday an Arab Festival. Jake and Emily are taking Arabic as their foreign language at school this year, and Drew is in an International Studies program, so our activities made for some great extra credit.

The twins and friends started Ballroom Dancing Class this week. Here are some photos from dinner with our carpool group before the kids headed off to dance. We included a photo of Drew's dance group from 2009 in the album... he was about a foot shorter back then!

Here We Go Again...

The kids started school today... Drew is a freshman; and Jake & Emily are 7th graders, so it's new schools & routines for all.

Here are links to two photo albums from some of our end-of-summer activities. The kids helped organize a neighborhood Humans v. Zombies game; we took a trip to Hood River for some biking and hiking; and our Ranger 20 has been replaced by Dreamer Too, a Catalina 22, which Pat drove from Montana to Portland over the weekend.
