We started blogging in 2007 to document a year-long family sailing adventure. Upon returning to our home base in Portland, Oregon, in 2008, our adventures and blogging continued. Sri Lanka and Malta took center stage for our 2018-2020 adventures. We were bicoastal (OR and PA) for a while in 2020-2022, but as we look ahead to our 16th year of posts, we're together in Oregon once again.
Here are some photos of our Halloween weekend. After carving a few jack-o-lanterns on Friday evening, we celebrated Halloween-eve on Saturday with a great party hosted by our friends Reeve, Ellen and Andrew. Click here for a few additional photos from trick-or-treating on Sunday. Jake's pillowcase weighed in at 10 lbs, so it was definitely a good haul!
Our motto this Halloween... TGFDC (Thank goodness for duct tape).
Pat was out in New York last weekend and got a chance to visit with his nieces and nephews. Here is a video we just posted of the whole crew. CLICK HERE.
For the best picture, play the video full screen at 720p (the setting is on the video) and it should provide a good quality picture.
The competition has been fierce in regard to who got to test-out the new water proof case for our video camera. Clearly, what we really need is a snorkeling vacation... or at least a larger hot tub.
We celebrated the first week of October with a trip to the Pumpkin Patch and an Apple Pressing Party.
We timed our pumpkin picking and trip through the corn maze a day ahead of the rain, so it was both sunny and mud-free. Click here for photos from the farm.
As for the apple-pressing party, a little rain couldn't possibly dampen the fun of DIY cider & donuts. Our friends Mike, Elizabeth, Teddy, Joe & Zanna had picked 1,000 pounds of apples for the occasion! It was a delicious afternoon! Click here for photos from the party.
